1. Stop position - engine short circuited 
(only Scoop).
2. Idle.
3. Full throttle - when the machine is in 
operation, full throttle should always be 
used. Full throttle positioned 1 - 1.5 cm 
from the lower edge of the groove. 
4. Choke - for starting a cold engine. 
Choke positioned at the bottom of the 
groove. 
6. GEAR LEVER 
A lever for selecting one of the three forward gears 
in the gearbox (1 - 2 - 3), neutral (N), or reverse 
(R).
The clutch pedal must be kept depressed when 
changing gear.
NOTE! You must make sure the machine is quite 
stationary before changing from reverse to forward 
gear or vice versa. If a gear does not engage imme-
diately, release the clutch pedal and depress it 
again, and then engage the gear once again. Never 
force a gear in.
7. STARTER KEY 
An ignition key used for starting and stopping the 
engine. There are three positions:
1. Stop position - engine short circuited. 
The key can be be removed. 
2. Run position (without symbol). 
3. Start position - the electric starter motor 
is activated when the key is turned to the 
spring-loaded start position. Once the en-
gine has started, allow the key to return to 
the run position. 
USING THE MACHINE
AREAS OF USE
The machine may only be used for the following 
tasks using the STIGA accessories stated:
1. Mowing
Using the mower deck originally fitted.
The maximum over-run load on the towing hitch 
from towed accessories must not exceed 500 N.NOTE! This machine is not designed to be driven 
on public roads.
NOTE! Before using a trailer, contact your insur-
ance company.
BEFORE STARTING
You must read these instructions for use 
and the accompanying pamphlet 
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS careful-
ly before starting up the machine. 
SAFETY SYSTEM
This machine is equipped with a safety system that 
consists of: 
- a switch on the gear box.
- a switch in the seat mounting.
- a switch near the blade engagement lever.
- a replaceable, electronic safety module that
controls the system.
In order to start the machine the following are nec-
essary:
- gear lever in neutral.
- driver sitting on seat (does not apply to Scoop
with manual start).
- blade engagement lever at rearmost setting
(i.e. blade disengaged)
Always check the operation of the safe-
ty system before using the machine!
Check in the following way:
- start the engine, sit on the seat, select a gear,
lift your weight off the seat - the engine must
stop. 
- start the engine again, sit on the seat, engage
the blade, lift your weight off the seat - the
engine must stop.
Do not use the machine if the safety sys-
tem does not work! Take the machine to 
a service agent for inspection.
FILLING THE PETROL TANK
Always use pure unleaded petrol. 2-stroke 
fuel must not be used.
NOTE! Bear in mind that petrol is a perishable, do 
not purchase more petrol than can be used within 
30 days.
Petrol is highly inflammable. Store pet-
rol in a container intended for this pur-
pose.

Always fill the petrol tank outdoors and 
do not smoke while filling. Fill the pet-
rol before starting the engine. Never re-
move the petrol cap or fill with petrol 
while the engine is running and or when 
it is still warm.
CHECK THE OIL LEVEL
The crankcase is filled with SAE 30 oil on deliv-
ery.
Always check the oil level before use. The ma-
chine should be on level ground.
Remove the dipstick B and then dry it. 
Place it fully into the hole again and tight-
en. 
Remove the dipstick once again and read off the oil 
level. Fill with oil up to the “FULL” mark if the 
level is lower than this (fig 11 - 12).
STARTING THE ENGINE
1. Make sure that the sparking plug cable is prop-
erly in place. 
2. Make sure the mower deck is disengaged. Blade 
engagement lever moved backwards.
3. Put the gear lever in neutral. 
4. Starting cold engine - put the throttle control in 
the choke position. Starting warm engine - put 
the throttle control at full throttle (1 - 1.5 cm 
above the choke position). 
5a. Engage the parking brake.
5b. Depress the brake pedal fully. 
6. Turn the starter key and start the engine. 
7. Once the engine has started, move the throttle 
control gradually to full throttle if the choke has 
been used. 
8. When starting from cold do not make the ma-
chine work under load immediately, but let the 
motor run for some minutes first. This will al-
low the oil to warm up. 
STOPPING
Move the blade lever backwards into the disen-
gaged position. Engage the parking brake.
Allow the engine to idle for 1 - 2 minutes. 
Stop the engine by switching off the ignition key. 
Remove the key. If the mower is left unattended remove 
the spark plug cable from the spark 
plug.
The engine can be extremely warm im-
mediately after stopping. Do not touch 
the muffler, cylinder or the cooling fins. 
As these can cause burns.
MOWING HINTS
Before you begin to mow your lawn remove any 
stones, toys and solid objects. 
Pinpoint any fixed objects before you start to mow 
unknown lawns. Loose and/or fixed objects can 
cause serious damage to the mower deck. 
Avoid mowing wet grass (during or immediately 
after a rain shower).
Keep your hands and feet away from 
the rotating blade. Never put your hand 
or foot under the mower deck or in the 
grass deflector while the engine is run-
ning.
If the engine should stop because the grass is too 
thick. Disengage the blade and move the machine 
to an area previously cut before engaging the 
mower deck again.
OPERATING
Make sure that the right amount of oil is in the ma-
chine before starting to mow on slopes (oil level on 
“FULL”).

suddenly while going up or down the 
slope. Never mow across the slope. 
Drive up and down and down and up.
The machine, equipped with original 
accessories, must not be driven on 
slopes greater than 10° in any direction.
Reduce speed on slopes and while turn-
ing sharply thus preventing the ma-
chine from overturning or that you lose 
control over the machine.

MAINTENANCE
No service should be carried out on the 
engine or mower deck unless:
-the engine has been stopped.
-the ignition key has been removed.
-the spark plug cable has been 
removed from the spark plug.
-the parking brake has been engaged.
-the mower deck has been disengaged.
MAINTENANCE TIPS
The machine has been designed so that it can be 
placed on the bumper for maintenance work (fig 
13). 
If the machine is to be stood on its side, 
the petrol and engine oil must first be 
drained off. In addition, the battery 
must be removed from Garden models. 
CLEANING 
Rinse off the underside of the mower deck using a 
garden hose. 
NOTE! Do not aim the jet of water directly at the 
transmission or air filter. 
CHANGING ENGINE OIL
Change the oil for the first time after 5 hours run-
ning and then at every 50 hours running, or at least 
once a season. Change oil when the engine is 
warm.
Always use a good grade of oil (service grade SF, 
SG or SH).
The engine oil may be very warm if it is 
drained off directly after the engine is 
shut off. Therefore, allow the engine to 
cool a few minutes before draining the 
oil.
1. Tilt the machine to the right (viewed from rear). 
Remove the oil dip-stick. Insert the enclosed 
pump into the oil-filler tube and suck the oil out 
into a container (fig 14).
2. Remove the dipstick and fill up with new oil.
Oil quantity: 0.65 litre. 
Oil type summer: SAE-30
(SAE 10W-30 can also be used. However, oil con-
sumption can increase somewhat if 10W-30 is 
used. Therefore check the oil level more re-gularly if you use this type of oil).
Oil type winter: SAE 5W-30
(SAE 10W-30 can also be used).
Use oil without any additives.
Do not overfill with oil as this can result in the en-
gine overheating. 
Check the oil after refilling, the level should be on 
“FULL”. 
LUBRICATION
The front axle has four lubrication points K (fig 
16). Fill with grease (use a grease gun) once per 
season.
Grease the steering gears L a couple of times each 
season (fig 17).
Also grease other moving parts on the machine a 
couple of times per season. 
AIR FILTER 
Important! Never run the engine without the air fil-
ter fitted. 
Foam filter (pre-cleaner): Clean every 3 months or 
after 25 running hours. 
Paper filter: Change annually or after 100 running 
hours. More frequently if the machine is used in 
extremely dusty conditions.
1. Remove the protective cover of the air filter and 
the foam filter (fig 18 - 19).
2. Wash the pre-cleaner M in liquid detergent and 
water. Squeeze dry. 
3. Lift out the paper filter N and thoroughly clean 
the air filter housing to prevent dirt from enter-
ing the carburettor.
4. Clean the paper filter as follows: Knock it light-
ly against a flat surface. If the filter is very dirty, 
change it.
5. Assemble in the reverse order.
Petroleum-based solvents such as kerosene must 
not be used for cleaning the paper filter as these 
can destroy the filter.
Do not use compressed air for cleaning the paper 
filter. The paper filter must not be oiled. 
KEEP ENGINE CLEAN 
The engine is air cooled. A blocked air system will

damage the engine. 
The cylinder cooling flanges and air inlet should 
be cleared of grass and dirt every 5 hours or every 
day (fig 20 - 21). This is particularly important 
when mowing dry grass. 
The area around the silencer should be cleaned in 
order to prevent fire.
Use compressed air or a brush for cleaning. Do not 
clean the engine with water.
During prolonged mowing of dry grass, the inner 
cooling fins on the engine may require cleaning. 
Contact an authorised service centre.
SPARK PLUG 
Check and clean the spark plug after 100 running 
hours.
Clean the spark plug using a wire brush (do not 
sand blast) and reset the spark gap to 0.75 mm. 
Replace the sparking plug if the electrodes are bad-
ly burnt. For replacing a sparking plug, a sparking 
plug sleeve AC and torsion pin AD are provided in 
the plastic bag containing accessories (only on 
Garden). 
The engine manufacturer recommend: 
Champion RC12YC. 
CARBURETTOR
The carburettor is correctly adjusted when it leaves 
the factory and any other adjustments are generally 
not needed.
Despite this, if the carburettor needs adjusting con-
tact a service centre. 
ADJUSTING THE CLUTCH/BRAKE
If the drive belt slides (it can stretch a little if worn) 
there is an adjuster on the clutch/brake rod. 
Adjust: Move the locking pin O to the rear hole 
(fig 22).
The brakes are adjusted using nut P on the brake 
arm (fig 22).
After adjustment, make sure the clutch is always 
activated before the brake. 
DISMANTLING THE MOWER DECK
1. Engage the parking brake.
2. Lift the machine on its bumper.If the machine is to be stood on its side, 
the petrol and engine oil must first be 
drained off. In addition, the battery 
must be removed from Garden models.
3. Set the lowest cutting height and remove the 
locking pin Q (fig 23). 
4. Dismantle the two rear locking pins R and the 
cable to the switch on the mower deck (fig 24). 
5. Pry-off the v-belt from the pulley (bend the belt 
guide S upwards) (fig 25).
6. Lift off the mower deck.
CHANGING THE V-BELT
ENGINE - MOWER DECK
1. Dismantle the mower deck (see above).
2. Remove the belt holder T. Lift off the old belt 
(fig 26). 
3. Fit a new genuine v-belt in the reverse order.
CHANGING THE V-BELT 
ENGINE - TRANSMISSION
1. Engage the parking brake.
2. Lift the machine on its bumper.
If the machine is to be stood on its side, 
the petrol and engine oil must first be 
drained off. In addition, the battery 
must be removed from Garden models.
3. Dismantle the mower deck (see above).
4. Loosen the spring U and remove the tension 
roller V (fig 25). 
5. Loosen the belt guide X and turn it to the side.
6. Pry-off the old belt over the gearbox pulley. 
Work from above the machine and use the hole in 
the bottom plate.
7. Pry off the belt from the engine pulley. Bend 
down the belt guide S and place the belt in the low-
er groove. Bend up the belt guide and remove the 
old belt.
8. Fit a new genuine v-belt in the reverse order.
ADJUSTING THE BLADE BRAKE 
1. Set the blade lever in the rear, disengaged posi-
tion.
2. Loosen the blade brake Y and adjust so that it 
lies flat against the pulley (fig 26).

3. Tighten the screws and nuts. 
Replace the blade brake pad when it has be-come 
worn.
BLADE
Make sure the blade is always sharp. This gives the 
best mowing results.
SHARPENING 
For safety reasons the blade must not be sharpened 
on an emery wheel. Incorrect sharpening (= high 
temperature) can result in the blade becoming brit-
tle.
When the blade is due to be sharpened, the wet 
grinding method with a waterstone or grindstone is 
to be used.
Following sharpening, the blade must 
be balanced to avoid vibration damage.
CHANGING BLADE
Always use original spare parts when changing the 
blade, blade attachment or bolt.
Always use original spare parts. Using 
non-original spare parts can result in 
the risk of damage even if they fit in the 
machine.
When changing the blade, the blade centre bolt 
should also be replaced. It is provided with a lock-
ing device. The blade bolt torque: 65 Nm.
SPARE PARTS
STIGA original spare parts and accessories are 
constructed exclusively for STIGA machines. 
Note that non original spare parts and accessories 
have not been checked or approved by STIGA:
Usage of such parts and accessories can 
influence the machines operability and 
safety. STIGA cannot be held responsi-
ble for injuries caused by these prod-
ucts.
STIGA reserves the right to make changes in the product 
without prior notice.

CONDITIONS OF WARRANTY
STIGA Ltd offers a full guarantee of all its products against defects in material or workmanship. 
The user must respect the instructions in the present manual.
WARRANTY PERIOD: 2 YEARS
The warranty is limited to a two year period starting at the date of purchase.
Warranty will only be applicable provided the following prescriptions are respected.
1.  The warranty sheet is attached to the back of the present booklet and has to be completed by 
the sales agent the day of the purchase.
2.  The machine will only be used under normal working conditions and not for professional 
purposes.
All parts are covered against defects in material or workmanship.
Upon presentation of the present warranty sheet all parts covered by the warranty will be re-
placed by an acknowledged after sales service station (parts + working hours).
Not covered by the warranty: parts subject to wear and tear such as the blades, the cables, the 
belts, the pulleys, the wheels and the tyres.
This warranty will not apply to the parts which have become inoperative due to:
faulty assembly, inappropriate usage, usage of no-originale parts, etc. Stiga Ltd declines all res-
ponsibility for any inconveniences caused by the use of the machine.
First operation of the machine, adjustment and maintenance are not covered by the warranty. 
Transport and/or packing of any parts must be paid by the purchaser.
MOTOR WARRANTY
All gasoline engines are covered by the Briggs & Stratton warranty or by Tecumseh under the 
terms mentioned in the engine instruction manual.
In case of legal dispute, only the Bruges courts (Belgium) are competent.

SEGURIDAD
GENERALIDADES
 Lea las instrucciones detenidamente. Aprenda a 
utilizar todos los mandos y el correcto uso de la 
máquina.
 Todos los operarios deben solicitar y obtener for-
mación práctica en el uso de la máquina antes de 
utilizarla. Remarque especialmente que: 
a. El uso de la cortadora de césped autopropulsa-
da requiere cuidado y concentración.
b. En las cuestas no se consigue, frenando, un 
control suficiente sobre una máquina que se des-
liza. Las causas fundamentales por las cuales se 
pierde el control son: falta de agarre de los neu-
máticos, alta velocidad, poco frenado, máquina 
no apta para la tarea, falta de atención al suelo 
por el cual se conduce o uso inapropiado de la 
máquina como remolque.
 No permita nunca que niños o personas que no 
conocen estas reglas utilicen la máquina. Reglas 
locales, además, pueden restringir el uso de la 
máquina a operarios de cierta edad.
 No utilice nunca la máquina si otras person-as, 
especialmente niños y animales se encuentran en 
las cercanías.
 Recuerde que el operario es el responsable si se 
producen daños personales o materiales.
 No permita que niños u otros pasajeros lo acom-
pañen. Pueden caerse y herirse de gravedad o im-
pedir que la máquina sea operada de manera 
segura.
 No utilice la máquina si ha ingerido alcohol, dro-
gas o medicinas. Tampoco cuando esté cansado 
o enfermo.
PREPARATIVOS
 Al conducir la máquina utilice calzado fuerte y 
pantalones largos. No conduzca nunca descalzo 
o en sandalias.
 Utilice una vestimenta correcta al conducir la 
máquina. No lleve ropas sueltas como collares, 
bufanda, corbata, etc. que puedan engancharse 
en las partes giratorias. Si tiene pelo largo, recó-
jalo. Controle cuidadosamente la zona a cortar/ lim-
piar. Retire las piedras sueltas, palos, alambres y 
demás objetos que la máquina puede despedir.
 Advertencia - la gasolina es muy inflamable.
a. Almacene la gasolina en recipientes especial-
mente fabricados para este uso.
b. La reposición de combustible ha de hacerse 
siempre al aire libre y durante la misma no hay 
que fumar.
c. Ponga combustible antes de arrancar el motor. 
Nunca quite la tapa del depósito ni ponga gasoli-
na cuando el motor está en marcha o caliente.
d. Si ha derramado gasolina, no arranque la má-
quina sin cambiarla del lugar del derrame y evite 
las chispas hasta que los vapores se hallan disipa-
do.
e. No olvide tapar el depósito de combustib-le y 
el bidón de gasolina luego de haber cargado la 
máquina.
 Cambie el silenciador si está estropeado.
 Antes del uso: controle siempre que las cuchillas 
y los mecanismos de fijación no están desgasta-
dos o dañados. Sustituya las partes desgastadas o 
dañadas en juegos a fin de conservar el equilibra-
do de la máquina.
 La batería (en las máquinas con arranque eléctri-
co) despide gases explosivos. Mantenga las chis-
pas, llamas y cigarillos alejados. Durante la carga 
debe mantener una buena ventilación.
 La batería contiene material tóxico. No dañe la 
cobertura; si ésta se daña evite el contacto con el 
contenido.
 No tire las baterías viejas o defectuosas a la basu-
ra. Tome contacto con las autoridades locales 
para informarse sobre cómo proceder correcta-
mente. 
 No ponga la batería en cortocircuito. Se produci-
rán chispas que pueden iniciar un incendio.CONDUCCIN
 Arranque el motor según las indicaciones del 
manual de instrucciones. Mantenga los pies ale-
jados de las cuchillas.
 No ponga en marcha el motor en lugares estre-
chos en los que podría acumularse el monóxido 
de carbono, que es tóxico.

 Utilice la máquina solamente de día o con bue-
na iluminación.
 Utilice siempre protección auditiva.
 Tenga mucho cuidado al acercarse a obstáculos 
que le dificulten la visibilidad.
 Mantenga a los niños alejados de la zona de tra-
bajo de la máquina. Procure que otro adulto los 
controle.
 Sea cuidadoso al dar marcha atrás mirando an-
tes y durante la marcha. Controle eventuales 
obstáculos. Preste especial atención a los niños 
pequeños.
 Desacople el o las cuchillas y desembrague an-
tes de arrancar el motor.
 No ponga nunca las manos o pies cerca o debajo 
de partes giratorias. Tenga cuidado con las cu-
chillas. No se pare frente al hueco de salida de 
la máquina.
 Evite utilizar la máquina en césped húmedo.
 Tenga cuidado en las pendientes. No haga 
arranques ni paradas bruscas al subir o bajar por 
una pendiente.
 Suelte el embrague lentamente. Conduzca 
siempre en alguna velocidad y no ponga la má-
quina en punto muerto al bajar cuestas.
 Nunca corte transversalmente a la pendiente. 
Hágalo bajando o subiendo por la misma.
 Al acoplar la tracción, hágalo a pocos gases, es-
pecialmente en hierba alta. Reduzca la veloci-
dad en las pendientes y curvas pronunciadas a 
fin de evitar el vuelco de la máquina o perder el 
control de la misma.
 Evite los agujeros en el suelo y otros peligros 
ocultos.
 No conduzca cerca de zanjas o bordes altos. La 
máquina puede volcar si una rueda queda fuera 
del terreno o si éste cede
 Tenga cuidado al remolcar la máquina y al uti-
lizar equipo pesado.
a. Utilice únicamente dispositivos de remolque 
aprobados.
b. Reduzca la carga a la que pueda ser controla-
da con seguridad.
c. No haga viradas bruscas. Tenga cuidado al re-
troceder.d. Utilice pesos para las ruedas o para el frente 
cuando el manual de instrucciones así lo reco-
mienda.
 Vigile el tráfico en los cruces y en las cercanías 
de carreteras.
 Detenga la cuchilla/las cuchillas si, cuando está 
cortando césped, tiene que cruzar un tipo de te-
rreno diferente.
 Al utilizar cualquier accesorio, nunca dirija la 
boca de expulsión hacia donde hay personas y 
no permita que se acerque nadie a la máquina 
cuando ésta está en marcha.
 No conduzca nunca la máquina si la protección 
no está completa o si los equipos de seguridad 
faltan.
 Los equipos de seguridad existentes no deben 
quitarse o desconectarse. Antes de cada uso 
controle que los equipos de seguridad funcio-
nan.
 No altere los ajustes del regulador del motor ni 
embale éste. El riesgo de accidente aumenta si 
se embala el motor.
 No toque las partes del motor que se calientan 
con el uso debido al riesgo de graves quemadu-
ras.
 No abandone el puesto de conducción sin:
a. Desacoplar la toma de fuerza y descender el 
accesorio. 
b. Sin ponerla en punto muerto y activar el freno 
de mano.
c. Parar el motor y haber quitado la llave.
 Utilice solamente accesorios aprobados por el 
fabricante.
 La máquina no debe utilizarse sin ningún acce-
sorio o herramienta montado en el soporte dado 
que puede modificarse negativamente la estabi-
lidad.
 Sea cuidadoso al utilizar recogedor de césped y 
otros accesorios porque pueden modificar la es-
tabilidad de la máquina, especialmente en cues-
tas.
 Desacoplar el accesorio, parar el motor y desco-
nectar el cable de la batería o quitar la llave de 
encendido.
a. Cuando hay que quitar palos o suciedad o 
cuando se ha obturado la salida.

b. Al realizar un control, limpieza o servicio de 
la máquina 
c. Para controlar si se ha producido algún daño 
y realizar reparaciones antes de arrancar la má-
quina nuevamente y hacerla funcionar luego de 
haber chocado contra algo .
d. Cuando hay que controlar la máquina debido 
a que empieza a vibrar anormalmente (controlar 
entonces inmediatamente).
 Desacoplar los accesorios al transportar la má-
quina o cuando ésta no se usa.
 Parar el motor y desacoplar los accesorios:
a. Antes de reponer combustible.
b. Antes de quitar el recogedor de hierba.
c. Antes de hacer el ajuste de la altura, si no pue-
de hacerse desde el puesto de conducción.
 Desacelere antes de parar el motor y si está 
equipado con válvula de combustible, ciérrela 
una vez terminado el trabajo.
 Tenga cuidado con los equipos multicuchilla 
puesto que una cuchilla girando puede hacer 
que otras empiecen a girar también.
 No utilice la máquina en cuestas demasiado em-
pinadas, vea la tabla de inclinación máxima per-
mitida.
 La cuchilla original del cabezal de corte no debe 
ser cambiada por recambio no original para, por 
ejemplo, quitar musgo. En caso contrario la ga-
rantía no vale; se corre además el riesgo de pro-
vocar daños humanos o materiales.
 Sea cuidadoso al cargar y descargar la máquina 
en o de un camión o remolque.
MANTEMIENTO Y ALMACENAMIEN-
TO
 Apriete todas las tuercas y tornillos para dejar la 
máquina en buen estado para trabajo.
 Controle regularmente que el tornillo/los torni-
llos de sostén del cuchillo estén correctamente 
ajustados.
 Controle regularmente el funcionamiento de los 
frenos. Es importante mantenerlos y repararlos 
en caso necesario.
 Nunca almacene la máquina con gasolina en el 
depósito en locales donde los vapores pueden 
entrar en contacto con fuegos o chispas. Antes de almacenar la máquina en cualquier lo-
cal, espere a que se haya enfriado el motor.
 Para disminuir el riesgo de incendio mantenga 
el motor, el silenciador, la batería y el depósito 
de gasolina libres de césped, hojas y aceite in-
necesario.
 Controle a menudo si el recogedor de hierba 
presenta desgastes o daños.
 Por razones de seguridad, cambiar siempre las 
piezas desgastadas o dañadas.
 Utilice siempre recambios originales, de lo con-
trario se pueden ocasionar daños incluso si las 
piezas se adaptan a la máquina.
 Cambie las etiquetas de aviso e instrucciones 
cuando estén deterioradas.
 Si no hay cierre mecánico para la posición de 
transporte, la unidad de corte tiene que estar 
descendida al aparcar, almacenar o dejar la má-
quina sin vigilancia.
 Si debe vaciar el depósito de gasolina, hágalo al 
aire libre.
 Guarde la máquina fuera del alcance de los ni-
ños.
ALMACENAJE
Vaciar el depósito de combustible. Arrancar el mo-
tor y dejarlo funcionar hasta que se pare.
Cambiar el aceite mientras está caliente el motor. 
NOTA: Si la máquina va a almacenarse en posi-
ción vertical, no hay que poner aceite nuevo en el 
motor hasta que tenga que volver a utilizarse.
Desmontar la bujía y verter una cuchara sopera de 
aceite en el cilindro. Hacer girar el motor algunas 
vueltas para que el aceite se distribuya por el cilin-
dro. Montar la bujía.
Limpiar la máquina completa, especialmente de-
bajo la cubierta de la unidad de corte. Retocar los 
desperfectos de la pintura a fin de evitar ataques de 
la corrosión.
Almacenar la máquina en un local seco.
Máquinas con arranque eléctrico:
Desmontar la batería y guardarla bien cargada en 
un lugar fresco (+15°C - 0°C).
Si la temperatura del lugar de almacenamiento es

correcta, la batería deberá volver a cargarse cada 4 
meses.
El electrolito es muy corrosivo y puede 
producir daños en la piel y ropa. Utilice 
guantes de goma y gafas protectoras de 
los ojos. Evite respirar los vapores que 
desprende el electrolito. 
No incline tanto la batería que pueda 
verterse el electrolito sobre las manos o 
la ropa. Si se produce este caso, limpiar 
con abundante agua.
SERVICIO
Las estaciones oficiales de servicio efectuarán las 
reparaciones y servicios de garantía necesarios. 
Ellos utilizan siempre repuestos originales
Los repuestos originales y los accesorios STIGA 
están especialmente construidos para las má-
quinas STIGA. Observe que los repuestos y ac-
cesorios no originales no han sido controlados 
ni reconocidos por STIGA. 
El uso de estas piezas y accesorios pue-
de modificar el funcionamiento y segu-
ridad de la máquina. STIGA no se hace 
responsable de los accidentes causados 
por los productos mencionados.
Los recambios originales son facilitados por los ta-
lleres de servicio autorizado y por muchos conce-
sionarios. 
Recomendamos encargar la revisión, manteni-
miento y control de los sistemas de seguridad de la 
máquina a un taller autorizado una vez por año.
IDENTIDAD DEL PRODUCTO
La identidad del producto queda definida en dos 
puntos:
1. Números de artículo y de serie de la máquina:
Se encuentran en esta placa fija a la máquina:2. Números de modelo, de tipo y de serie del mo-
tor:
Se encuentran en el bastidor del ventilador del mo-
tor como indica el dibujo:
Utilice estos datos en todo contacto con talleres de 
servicio y al comprar recambios.
Inmediatamente después de la compra de la máqui-
na, los números precedentes deben anotarse en la 
última hoja de este folleto.
MEDIO AMBIENTE
Para cuidar el medio ambiente, recomendamos te-
ner especialmente en cuenta los siguientes puntos:
 Utilice siempre gasolina Acrilat (la así llamada 
Gasolina Verde).
 Utilice siempre un embudo y/o bidón de gasoli-
na con protección contra desbordes para evitar 
derrames al repostar.
 No llene el depósito de gasolina hasta el borde.
 No cargue demasiado aceite en el motor ni en la 
transmisión (controle en las instrucciones la 
cantidad correcta). 
 Al cambiar el aceite junte todo el aceite viejo. 
No deje que se derrame. Entregue el aceite a 
una central de reciclaje.
 No tire los filtros viejos en la basura. Entrégue-
los a la central de reciclaje. 
 No tire las baterías de plomo en la basura. En-
tréguelas a una central de reciclaje. 
 Si el silenciador está roto cámbielo. Utilice 
siempre repuestos originales al reparar. 
 Si la máquina tiene catalizador de serie y se ha 
roto, monte un nuevo catalizador. 
 Haga regular el carburador por un técnico.
 Limpie el filtro de aire según las recomendacio-
nes (vea las instrucciones de uso).
