    							DeepPrintHeadCleaningIf standard print head cleaning does not improve print quality, try deep print head cleaning. However,because deep print head cleaning consumes more ink, this operation is advisable only when necessary.

    							6.Load a sheet of A4 or Letter-sized plain paper in the cassette.

    							AligningthePrintHeadIf printed images seem distorted, as when parallel lines are not printed parallel, align the print head.

    							7.Select Yes, and then press the  OK button.
    The print head alignment sheet is printed, and the print head is aligned automatically. This process takes 3
    						
    							AligningthePrintHeadManuallyTry aligning the print head manually after automatic alignment if printing results are not as expected, as
    when parallel lines are not printed parallel.

    							6.Pull out the output tray extension and open the paper output support.7.
    Select Yes, and then press the  OK button.
    The print head alignment pattern is printed.

    Confirm that the pattern was printed correctly, and if so, select  Yes after " Didthepatterns
    printcorrectly? " is displayed, and then press the  OK button.
    The input screen for head position alignment values is displayed.
    9.
    Examine the first patterns. In column A, find the pattern in which vertical streaks are least
    noticeable, and then use the 
     or  button to select the number of that pattern.

    							A: Subtle vertical streaks
    B: Noticeable vertical streaks
    10.
    Repeat these steps until you have finished entering pattern numbers for columns B to M,
    and then press the  OK button.
    11.
    Check the message, and then press the  OK button.
    The second set of patterns is printed.
    12.
    Examine the second patterns. In column N, find the pattern in which horizontal streaks are least noticeable, and then use the 
     or  button to select the number of that pattern.

    							13.Repeat these steps until you have finished entering pattern numbers for columns O to T,
    and then press the  OK button.
    For column P, choose the pattern in which vertical streaks are least noticeable.14.
    Press the  OK button when a message is displayed indicating that print head alignment is
    finished.

    							CleaningthePrintHeadsThe print head cleaning function allows you to clear up clogged print head nozzle. Perform print head
    cleaning if printing is faint or a specific color fails to print, even though there is enough ink.
    The procedure for cleaning the print head is as follows:
    Cleaning
    1.
    Open the printer driver setup window
    2.
    Click  Cleaning  on the Maintenance  tab
    When the  PrintHeadCleaning  dialog box opens, select the ink group for which cleaning is to be
    performed.
    Click  InitialCheckItems  to display the items you need to check before performing cleaning.
    3.
    Execute cleaning
    Make sure that the printer is on and then click  Execute.
    Print head cleaning starts.
    4.
    Complete cleaning
    The  NozzleCheck  dialog box opens after the confirmation message.
    5.
    Check the results
    To check whether the print quality has improved, click  PrintCheckPattern. To cancel the check
    process, click  Cancel.
    If cleaning the head once does not resolve the print head problem, clean it once more.
