							LCDandOperationPanelThe operation panel features an LCD and buttons.
Select icons on the HOME screen to choose menus for copying, faxing, or scanning.
The HOME screen consists of three sections.
Basicuseoftheoperationpanel
Use the 
, , , or  buttons (A) to select a menu or option on a screen, and then press the  OK button
(B).
To return to the previous screen, press the  Back button (C).
UsingtheFunctionButtons
Function menu items (D) are displayed as needed on the bottom of the LCD. To use a function here,
press the corresponding  Function button (E, F, or G).
The number and nature of function menu items varies depending on the screen. Check function menu
items on the bottom of the screen, and then select the one you need.
Example: HOME screen

							Press the left Function button (E) to display the  ChangeLAN screen. From there, you can adjust
wireless LAN settings.
Press the center  Function button (F) to display the  Currentestimatedinklevels  screen. From there,
you can check current ink levels.
Press the right  Function button (G) to display the  Registercassettepaperinfo  screen. From there, you
can check the cassette's page size and media type settings.

							EnteringNumbers,Letters,andSymbolsUse the Numeric button to enter or edit user or recipient names or other information.
SwitchingtheInputModeThe machine has input modes for lowercase letters, uppercase letters, and numbers. To switch modes,
press the 
 button (A). The mode cycles from lowercase to uppercase to numeric mode.
The current input mode is indicated on the bottom right of the LCD.

							ChangingthePrintOptionsYou can change the detailed printer driver settings for print data that is sent from an application software.Specify this option if you encounter print failures such as part of an image data being cut off.
The procedure for changing the print options is as follows:1.
Open the printer driver setup window
2.
Click  PrintOptions...  on the PageSetup  tab
The PrintOptions  dialog box opens.

							RegisteringaFrequentlyUsedPrintingProfileYou can register the frequently used printing profile to  CommonlyUsedSettings on the QuickSetup  tab.
Unnecessary printing profiles can be deleted at any time.
The procedure for registering a printing profile is as follows:
RegisteringaPrintingProfile1.
Open the printer driver setup window

Set the necessary items
From  CommonlyUsedSettings  on the QuickSetup  tab, select the printing profile to be used and if
necessary, change the settings after  AdditionalFeatures.
You can also register necessary items on the  Main and PageSetup  tabs.

Click Save...
The SaveCommonlyUsedSettings  dialog box opens.

Save the settings

							Enter a name in the Name field. If necessary, click  Options..., set the items, and then click  OK.
In the  SaveCommonlyUsedSettings  dialog box, click OK to save the print settings and return to the
QuickSetup  tab.
The name and icon are displayed in  CommonlyUsedSettings.
