							Cannot Find Machine During Wireless LAN Setup: Check 3
Is machine connected to wireless router?
Use the icon on the touch screen to make sure the machine is connected to the wireless router.
If  icon is displayed:
Make sure the wireless router you are using is configured to use 2.4 GHz bandwidth.
For more on checking the setting of the wireless router, refer to the instruction manual supplied with the
wireless router or contact its manufacturer.
After checking the wireless router setting, make sure the machine is not placed far away from the wireless router.
The machine can be up to 50 m (164 ft) from the wireless router indoors. Make sure the machine is close
enough to the wireless router to be used.
In addition, check where the machine and the wireless router are located and take the appropriate action.

						

							If  icon is displayed:
Go to check 4.

Does computer show same connected wireless router SSID as machine?Check the SSID of the wireless router for the machine on the touch screen.
Select  Setup on HOME screen and select  Device settings > LAN settings  > Confirm LAN settings  >
WLAN setting list .
Check your computer for the SSID of the wireless router it connects to.

Does your security software's firewall or computer operating systeminterfere with network communications setup?
The firewall of your security software or operation system for computer may limit communication betweenthe machine and your computer. Check the firewall setting of your security software or operation system or the message shown on your computer.
If firewall interferes with setup:

Check wireless router settings.
Check wireless router network connection settings, such as IP address filtering, MAC address filtering, and DHCP function.
Make sure the same radio channel is assigned to the wireless router and the machine.
To check the settings of the wireless router, see the instruction manual supplied with the wireless router or
contact the manufacturer.
After checking the wireless router settings, click  Redetect on the Check Printer Settings  screen to
redetect the machine.
If the machine is found, follow the instructions on the screen to continue to set up network communication.
If the machine is not yet detected, select the  Set up the network connection via USB check box on the
Check Printer Settings  screen, and then click Next to set up the network communication via USB.

Is LAN cable connected, and are machine and router on?
Make sure LAN cable is connected.
Make sure machine is turned on.
Confirming that the Power Is On
Make sure router is turned on.
If LAN cable is connected and machine or network device is off: Turn on machine or network device.
It may take a while for the machine and network device to become ready for use once they are turned on.
Wait a while after turning on the machine or network device, and then click  Redetect on the Check
Printer Settings  screen to redetect the machine.
If the machine is found, follow the instructions on the screen to continue to set up network communication.
If LAN cable is connected and machine and network device are on:
If the machine cannot not be found after trying to redetect it, even though the machine and the network device are on, go to Check 2.

Are computer and router configured and can computer connect to network?
Make sure you can view web pages on your computer.
If you cannot view any web pages:
Click  Cancel  on the  Check Printer Settings  screen to cancel to set up the network communication.
After that, configure the computer and network device.
For the procedures, refer to the instruction manuals supplied with the computer and network device, or contact their manufacturers.
If you can view web pages after configuring the computer and network device, try to set up the network
communication from the beginning.
If you can view web pages: Go to check 3.

Is machine set to allow wired communication?
Make sure the 
 icon is displayed on the touch screen.
If icon is not displayed: The machine is not set to allow wired communication. Turn on wired communication on the machine.
Once you have turned on wired communication, click  Back to Top on the Check Printer Settings  screen
to redo the network communication setup from the beginning.
If icon is displayed: Go to check 4.

Is machine connected to router?
Use the operation panel to make sure the machine is connected to the router.
Select  Setup on HOME screen and select  Device settings > LAN settings  > Confirm LAN settings  >
LAN setting list .
Make sure  Connection  on the touch screen is set to  Active..
If Connection is set to Inactive:
The machine is not connected to the router. Connect the machine to the router.Once you have connected the machine to the router, click  Back to Top on the Check Printer Settings
screen to redo the network communication setup from the beginning.
If Connection is set to Active: Go to check 5.
