    Tab Margin Shift
    The 
    Tab Margin Shift  option allows you to copy images from a document onto tabbed stock.
    Note:
    Only Tray 5 (Bypass) can be used with the Tab Margin Shift option. Loa\
    d the paper into Tray 5 with the side 
    to be copied facing up and with the tabbed edge trailing.
    Touch  Copy on the touch screen, then touch the  Output Format tab.

    Choose from the following options:

    The Shift to Tab  opton will print the edge of the original document image onto the tab o\
    f the tabbed 
    stock. You can change the amount of shift required by using the  Shift Value arrow keys on the touch 
    screen. 
    The  Shift All  optons are shown here. This option will print the entire original docum\
    ent image onto 
    the tabbed stock. You can change the amount of shift required by using t\
    he  Shift Value arrow keys on 
    the touch screen.
    For both shift options, you can specify the  Tab Stock Size and Tab Stock Type  using the buttons on the 
    touch screen.
    Touch  Save.

    Advanced Copying
    Building a Job
    Complex copy jobs that include a variety of originals requiring differen\
    t copy settings can be produced using this 
    feature. Each “segment” can have different copy settings. After al\
    l segments areprogrammed and scanned, the page 
    images are stored temporarily in the printer. The complete copy job is t\
    hen printed.
    To build a copy job with multiple segments:
    Touch Copy on the touch screen.

    Program and scan the first segment:

    The Copy screen appears on the touch screen. Place the originals in the document feeder or on the document glass for \
    the first segment.
    Touch the desired copy settings for the first segment.
    Touch the 
    Job Assembly  tab.
    Touch the Build Job button, touch  On, then touch  Save.
    To scan the first set of originals, press the green  Start button on the control panel.

    Program and scan additional segments:

    Place the originals in the document feeder or on the document glass for \
    the next segment, then touch 
    Next Original .
    When printing 2-sided jobs, the start page of the next segment is set us\
    ing Chapter Start. To set the 
    start page of the next 2-sided segment, touch  Chapter Start, then choose from the following:
    Off: the first page of the next segment prints on the next available side.
    On : the first page of the next segment prints on Side 1 of a new sheet of \
    paper.
    Pages per Side-New Page : if the first segment has an odd number of pages the second segment 
    will start on side 1. If the first segment has an even number of pages t\
    he second segment will 
    start on side 2.
    Touch  Change Settings . Touch the settings for the segment.
    To scan the next set of originals, press the green  Start button on the control panel.
    For each additional segment you wish to copy, repeat Step 3.

    When all segments have been scanned, in the Copy screen, touch  Last Original.
    5.
    The entire copy job prints.
    Note:
    Because all the segments print as one job, you can select options such a\
    s covers or booklet creation that will 
    apply to the entire job.

    Touch 
    Copy on the touch screen, then touch the  Job Assembly tab.

    Touch  Build Job , then touch  On.
    2.
    Select from:

    Touch  Save.
    4. Copy Output
    : touch Paper Supply , Stapling , Collation  and Output/Offse t options, then touch  Save.
    Booklet Creation : see Creating Booklets. Select the desired settings, then touch  Save.
    Covers : see Including Covers. Select the desired settings, then touch  Save.
    Annotations : see Adding Annotations. Select the desired settings, then touch  Save.
    Segment Separators : to insert separator pages between segments, touch  Segment Separators, then 
    choose from the following:
    Watermarks : See Adding Watermarks. Select settings, then touch  Save.
    No Separators : separators are not inserted. Touch  Save.
    Blank Separators : blank separators are inserted. To specify the quantity of separators, \
    touch the 
    plus or minus buttons, then touch  Save.
    1-Sided Separators Side 1 Only : the first page of the loaded documents is copied on thefront 
    side of a separator. Touch  Save.
    1-Sided Separators Side 2 Only : the first page of the loaded documents is copied on the back 
    side of a separator. Touch  Save.
    2-Sided Separators : the first two pages of the loaded documents are copied onto each side \
    of a 
    separator. Touch  Save.
    To select Build Job options:

    Printing a Sample Copy
    With a complicated copy job, it can be helpful to print a test copy befo\
    re printing multiple copies. This feature prints 
    a single copy and holds the remaining copies. After inspection of the sa\
    mple, the remaining copies can be printed 
    using the same settings, or cancelled.
    To print the sample copy:
    Note:
    The sample copy is counted as part of the total quantity selected. For e\
    xample, when copying a book, if 3 is entered 
    as the number of desired copies; one copy of the book will be printed, a\
    nd two other copies will be held until they are 
    released for printing.
    Touch Copy on the touch screen, then touch the desired copy settings.
    1.
    Touch the  Job Assembly  tab.
    2.
    Touch  Sample Job , then touch  On.
    3.
    Touch  Save.
    4.
    Press the green  Start button on the control panel; the sample set is printed. 
    5.
    To print the remaining copies or delete the job: To print the remaining copies of the job, touch  Start, or press the green  Start button on the control panel.
    1.
    If the sample copy is unsatisfactory, touch  Delete.

    Combining Original Sets
    If the number of originals exceeds the capacity of the document feeder, \
    you can combine the sets into one job.
    To select Combine Original Sets:
    Touch Copy on the touch screen. Touch the desired copy settings, then enter the nu\
    mber of copies using the 
    alphanumeric keypad on the control panel.
    1.
    Touch the  Job Assembly  tab, then touch  Combine Original Sets .
    2.
    Touch  On, then touch  Save.
    3.
    Place the first set of originals in the document feeder.
    4.
    Press the green  Start button on the control panel; copying begins. The Copy screen appears on\
     the touch 
    screen.
    5.
    Scan additional sets:
    6.
    For each additional set, repeat Step 6.
    7.
    When the final set has been copied, in the Combine Original Sets screen,\
     touch  Last Original. The final copies 
    print.
    8.
    To cancel the job, touch  Delete.
    9. Place the originals for the next set in the document feeder.
    In the Copy screen, touch 
    Next Original.
    Touch Start on the touch screen, or press the green  Start button on the control panel. Copying 
    continues.

    Delete Outside/Delete Inside
    This feature allows you to delete everything inside or outside a specifi\
    ed rectangular area. Up to three areas can be 
    defined for deletion.
    To select areas to delete:
    Touch Copy on the touch screen, then touch the  Job Assembly tab.
    1.
    Touch  Delete Outside/Delete Inside .
    2.
    To delete everything outside the specified area when copying:

    Touch Delete Outside .
    The area is defined by the rectangle formed between the points as shown \
    on the touch screen. Touch 
    Area 1, then touch each coordinate on the touch screen. Use the alphanumeric k\
    eypad on the control 
    panel to enter the coordinate values for X1, X2, Y1 and Y2. When all val\
    ues have been entered, touch 
    Save .
    To apply the deleted area for 2-Sided copying, under Originals touch  Both Sides, Side 1 Only  or Side 2 
    Only .
    Touch  Save.
    Additional areas can be defined by selecting Area 2 and Area 3.

    To delete everything inside the specified area when copying:

    Saving Copy Settings
    To use a particular combination of copy settings for future copy jobs, y\
    ou can save the settings with a name and 
    retrieve the settings for later use with other copy jobs.
    To save the current copy settings:
    On the touch screen, touch  Copy.
    1.
    Touch the  Job Assembly  tab, then touch  Save Current Settings .
    2.
    Using the touch screen keyboard, enter a name for the saved settings.
    3.
    Touch  Save.
