    5. SERVICE TABLES 
    5.1 SERVICE PROGRAM MODE 
     
    ƒ  Make sure that the data-in LED (
    ) is not on before you go in to the SP mode. This 
    LED indicates that some data is coming to  the machine. When the LED is on, wait 
    for the copier to process the data. 
    5.1.1 ENTERING AND EXITING  SERVICE PROGRAM MODE 
     
    ƒ  The Service Program Mode is for use by se rvice representatives only. If this mode 
    is used by anyone other than service repr esentatives for any reason, data might 
    be deleted or settings might be changed. In such case, product quality cannot be 
    guaranteed any more. 
    Entering SP Mode 
    1.  Press the Clear Mode key (). 
    2.  Use keypad to enter 107 (
    ). 
    3.  Hold down Clear/Stop (
    ) for 3 seconds at least. 
    4.  Enter the Service Mode. 
    Exiting SP Mode 
    1.  Press Exit on the LCD twice  to return to the copy window. 
    5.1.2  TYPES OF SP MODES 
    ƒ  Copy SP: SP modes related to the engine functions 
    ƒ  Printer SP: SP modes relat ed to the controller functions 
    ƒ  Scanner SP: SP modes relat ed to the scanner functions 
    ƒ  Fax SP: SP modes related to the fax functions 
    Select one of the Service Program modes (Copy,  Printer, Scanner, or Fax) from the touch 
    panel as shown in the diagram below after y ou access the SP mode. This section explains 
    the functions of the Printer/Copy/Scanner SP  modes. Refer to the Fax service manual for 
    the Fax SP modes.

    SP Mode Button Summary 
    Here is a short summary of the touch-panel buttons. 
     
     
      Opens all SP groups and sublevels. 
     Closes all open groups and sublevels and re
    stores the initial SP mode display. 
     Opens the copy window (copy mode) so y
    ou can make test copies. Press SP Mode 
    (highlighted) in the copy window to return to the SP mode screen, 
      Enter the SP code directly with the number
     keys if you know the SP number. Then 
    press . (The required SP Mode number w ill be highlighted when pressing . If 
    not, just press the required SP Mode number.) 
      Press two times to leave the SP mode and 
    return to the copy window to resume
