    							The display shows the selectable
    items. If you want to cancel
    ‘‘DEFAULT ALL,’’ select ‘‘CANCEL’’
    by pressing the INFO button, then
    press and hold the SEL/RESET
    button for about 3 seconds to set.
    The display goes back to the normal
    display.To set the def ault settings, select
    ‘‘OK’’ by pressing the INFO button,
    then press and hold the SEL/RESET
    button for about 3 seconds to set.Af ter the DEFAULT ALL operation
    is completed, you will see the above

    If the DEFAULT ALL operation is
    not successf ul, you will see the above
    display f or a f ew seconds, then the
    display goes back to the setting
    display.Selecting the def ault setting is
    cancelled. Displayed language is English. ECO indicator is on. In the automatic driving mode, the
    REV indicator goes out. Rev indicator is on. Measurements in the trip
    computer correspond with the

    The length of the wiper
    interval is varied automatically
    according to vehicle’s speed.The wipers run at high
    speed until you release the lever.
    The wipers are not activated.
    While the vehicle is stopped and in
    gear, the wipers sweep the
    windscreen whenever you remove

    The automatic intermittent wiper
    system senses rainf all and
    automatically turns on the
    windscreen wipers. To enable
    sensing, push the lever down to
    select AUTO. The headlight washers can be
    operated at any time by pressing the
    headlight washer button located next
    to the steering wheel column. The
    headlights must be turned on to use
    this button. In addition, the headlight
    washer operates without pressing
    the button at the first time you turn
    on the windscreen washers af ter you
    turn the ignition switch to the ON
    (II) position.The headlight washers use the same
    f luid reservoir as the windscreen
    washers.

    							You can adjust the sensitivity of the
    system by turning the adjustment
    ring on the wiper lever. When the system senses rainf all, it
    turns on the windscreen wipers and
    varies their speed (intermittent, low
    speed, or high speed) depending on
    how hard it is raining. This f unction
    is available when the vehicle speed
    exceeds 10 km/h (6 mph).When the wiper lever is in the ‘‘LO’’
    (low speed) or ‘‘HI’’ (high speed)
    position, the windscreen wipers run
    at that speed. Automatic sensing is
    disabled.

    							Do not position the wiper lever in
    AUTO when driving through a car
    wash. Turn of f this system when not
    in use.
    The rainfall sensor is located in the
    windscreen near the rearview mirror.
    If the sensor is covered with mud, oil,
    dust, etc., the wipers may not
    operate properly or may operate
    unexpectedly.

    							µµPush down or up on
    the lever to signal a turn. To signal a
    lane change, push lightly on the
    lever in the proper direction and hold
    it. The lever will return to centre
    when you release it or complete a
    turn.Turning the
    switch to the ‘‘ ’’ position turns
    on the position lights, tail-lights,
    instrument panel lights, and rear
    licence plate lights.
    Turning the switch to the ‘‘ ’’
    position turns on the headlights. If
    you leave the lights on with the key
    removed f rom the ignition switch,
    you will hear a reminder chime when
    you open the driver’s door.

    ‘‘ ’’ or the ‘‘ ’’ position, the
    lights on indicator comes on as a
    reminder.
    You will also see the symbol ‘‘ ,’’
    or this symbol with a
    ‘‘HEADLIGHTS ON’’ message on
    the multi-information display. If you hold the turn signal lever, the
    turn signal continues to blink and
    will stop when you release it. To signal a lane change easily, push
    the turn signal lever in the proper
    direction lightly and release it. The
    lef t or right turn signal indicator on
    the instrument panel and the
    appropriate outside turn signals will
    blink three times. 1.

    On some models
    The automatic lighting
    f eature turns on the headlights, all
    other exterior lights, and the
    instrument panel lights when it
    senses low ambient light.
    To turn on the automatic lighting,
    turn the light switch to the AUTO
    position at any time. The lights will
    come on automatically when the
    outside light level becomes low (at
    dusk, f or example). The lights on
    indicator comes on as a reminder.
    The lights and indicator turn of f
    automatically when the system
    senses high ambient light. Push the lever
    f orward until you hear a click to turn
    on the high beams. The blue high
    beam indicator will come on (see
    page ). Pull the lever back to
    return to the low beams.
    The daytime running lights come on
    automatically when you turn the
    ignition switch to the ON (II)
    position. They go out automatically
    when the light switch is ON. To f lash the high beams, pull the
    lever back lightly, then release it.
    The high beams will stay on as long
    as you hold the lever back.
    The lights turn of f automatically
    when you turn the ignition switch to
    the LOCK (0) position. To turn them
    on again, either turn the ignition
    switch to the ON (II) position, or
    turn the light switch to the
    position.Even with the automatic lighting
    f eature turned on, we recommend
    thatyouturnonthelightsmanually
    when driving at night or in a dense
    f og, or when you enter dark areas
    such as long tunnels or parking
    f acilities.
    Do not leave the light switch in
    AUTO if you will not be driving the
    vehicle f or an extended period (a
    weekormore).Youshouldalsoturn
    of f the lights if you plan to leave the
    engine idling or the engine of f f or a
    long time.
    If there is a problem with the
    automatic lighting control system,
    you will see the symbol ‘‘ ,’’ or
    the symbol with a ‘‘CHECK
    SYSTEM’’ message on the multi-
    inf ormation display. Have the vehicle
    checked by your dealer as soon as
    possible. 85
