    HFT system response is ‘‘Calling’’
    or ‘‘Dialing.’’ Once connected, you
    will hear the person you called
    through the audio speakers. To
    change the volume, use the audio
    system volume knob, or the
    steering wheel volume controls.To redial the last number called by
    the phone, press and release the
    Talk button. After the beep, say
    ‘‘Redial.’’ The HFT system response
    is, ‘‘Redialing.’’ Once connected, you

    display (on vehicles with navigation

    as shown above. Enter a call
    number.To make a call, press the selector
    on the interface dial to the right.
    To end the call, press the Back
    button.

    To send a name during a call, do this:

    will continue. The HFT system allows you to send
    numbers or names during a call. This
    is usef ul when you call a menu-
    driven phone system. You can also
    programme account numbers into
    the HFT system phonebook f or easy
    retrieval during menu-driven calls.

    Sending Numbers or Names
    During a Call

    							During a call, you can transfer it
    f rom the HFT system to your phone,
    or f rom your phone to the HFT
    system.
    Press and release the Talk button.
    Af ter the beep, say ‘‘Transf er.’’
    The audio switches f rom the HFT
    system to the phone.
    Press and release the Talk button.
    Af ter the beep, say ‘‘Transf er.’’
    The audio switches f rom your
    phone to the HFT system. If your phone has call waiting, and
    you receive a call when you are on
    the phone, press and release the
    Talk button to answer it. When you
    do this, the original call is placed on
    hold. To return to the original call,
    press the Talk button again. If you
    don’t want to answer the new call,
    disregard it, and continue with your
    original call. If you want to hang up
    the original call and answer the new
    call, press the Back button. If you receive a call when you are not
    on the phone, the HFT system
    interrupts the audio system (if it is
    on), and plays the incoming call
    notification, if activated. To answer
    the call, press the Talk button and
    begin speaking. If you don’t want to
    answer the call, press the Back

    							The HFT system phonebook can
    store up to 50 names with their
    associated numbers. These can be
    any types of numbers. For example,
    you can store a phone number and
    useittomakeacall,oryoucanstore
    a name tag and use it to call.
    Press and release the Talk button.
    After the beep, say ‘‘Store.’’ The
    HFT system response is, ‘‘What
    name would you like to store?’’ During a call, you can mute or
    unmute your voice to the person you
    are talking to.
    Press and release the Talk button.
    Af ter the beep, say ‘‘Phonebook.’’
    The HFT system response is
    ‘‘Phonebook options are store, edit,
    delete, receive contact, and list.’’ Press and release the Talk button.
    Af ter the beep, say ‘‘Mute.’’ The
    HFT system response is, ‘‘Mute is
    active.’’
    Press and release the Talk button.
    Af ter the beep, say ‘‘Mute.’’ The
    HFT system response is, ‘‘Mute is
    cancelled.’’ If you get into the vehicle while you
    are on the phone, a call will be
    transferred automatically to the HFT
    system when you turn the ignition
    switch to the ACCESSORY (I)

    number f or Eric?’’ Press and release the Talk button.

    Af ter the beep, say the new
    number f or Eric. For example, say
    ‘‘987 654 3219.’’ The HFT system
    response is, ‘‘987 654 3219.’’
    Press and release the Talk button.
    Af ter the beep, say ‘‘Enter.’’ The
    HFT system response is ‘‘The
    number has been changed.

    do this:

    The HFT system response is

    Af ter the beep, say ‘‘List.’’ The
    HFT system responds by listing
    the names in the phonebook.
    When it says the name you want to
    call, f or example, Eric, press the
    Talk button, and then say ‘‘Call.’’
    The HFT system response is,
    ‘‘Would you like to call Eric?’’Press and release the Talk button.
    Af ter the beep, say ‘‘Yes.’’ The
    HFT system response is ‘‘Calling.’’
    Once connected, you will hear the
    person you called through the
    audio speakers. To change the
    volume, use the audio system

    wheel volume controls.You can store the desired number in
    the HFT system phonebook directly
    f rom your cellular phone.
    Your phone may not have
    this capability. You can see your
    phone’s owner’s manual f or

    							To store a phone number f rom your
    phone:
    With your phone on and the
    ignition switch in the
    ACCESSORY (I) or ON (II)
    position, press and release the
    Talk button. After the beep, say
    ‘‘Phonebook.’’ The HFT system
    response is, ‘‘Phonebook options
    are store, edit, delete, receive
    contact and list.’’
    Press and release the Talk button.
    Af ter the beep, say ‘‘Receive
    contact.’’ The HFT system
    response is, ‘‘The receive process
    requires operation of your
    Bluetooth device. For saf ety, only
    perf orm this f unction while the
    vehicle is stopped. Hands f ree
    telephone is now waiting to
    receive a contact f rom a Bluetooth
    device.’’Select a desired number f rom the
    list on your phone, and transmit/
    send (individual steps will vary f or
    each type of phone, ref er to your
    phone’s owner’s manual) via
    Bluetooth. The HFT system
    response is ‘‘One phone number
    has been received f or this contact.
    What name would you like to store
    f or the mobile number? To discard
    this number, say ‘Discard.’ ’’
    Press and release the Talk button.
    After the beep, say the name you
    would like to store. For example,
    say ‘‘Neil at work.’’ The HFT
    system response is, ‘‘Neil at work
    willbestored.Isthiscorrect?’’Press and release the Talk button.
    Af ter the beep, say either ‘‘Yes’’ or
    ‘‘No.’’ If you say ‘‘Yes,’’ the HFT
    system response is, ‘‘Neil at work
    has been stored. Would you like
    hands f ree telephone to receive
    anothercontact?’’Gotostep6.
    If you say ‘‘No,’’ the HFT system
    response is ‘‘Returning to the main
    menu.’’
    If you want to continue to store
    any other numbers, press and
    release the Talk button. After the
    beep, say ‘‘Yes.’’ The HFT system

    is now waiting to receive a contact

    this number, say ‘Discard.’ ’’

    After the beep, say the name you
    would like to store. For example,
    say ‘‘Susan at work.’’ The HFT
    system response is, ‘‘Susan at
    work will be stored. Is this
    correct?’’Press and release the Talk button.
    Af ter the beep, say either ‘‘Yes’’ or
    ‘‘No.’’ The HFT system response
    is ‘‘Susan at work has been stored.
    Would you like hands f ree
    telephone to receive another
    contact?’’
    If you do not want to continue to
    store any other numbers, press
    and release the Talk button. After
    the beep, say ‘‘No.’’ The HFT
    system response is ‘‘Returning to
    the main menu.’’The cellular phonebook option
    allows you to store up to 1,000 names
    and 10,000 phone numbers in the
    phonebook of Bluetooth
    Hands-
    Free Telephone (HFT) System f rom
    your cellular phonebook. The
    maximum names and numbers to be
    stored varies on the data size. With
    the HFT system, you can then
    automatically dial any name or
    number in the phonebook.
    Your phone may not have
    this capability. You can see your
    phone’s owner’s manual f or
    inf ormation. To use this optional
    f unction, your phone must be
    compatible with the Phonebook
    Access Prof ile (PBAP) or the
