    next to the light control switch. You
    can use the rear f og light when the
    headlights are on (the light control
    switch is in the position).To operate the rear f og light, turn
    the switch up from the off ( )

    when the light control switch is in
    the position or the f ront f og

    switch down again.

    with the front fog lights on by
    turning the switch up again.The f ront and rear f og lights will go

    on, it will go of f when you turn the
    headlights of f .
    To turn the rear fog light on again,
    you have to turn the fog light switch
    again with the headlights on
    ( position) or the f ront f og
    lights on. To turn on the rear f og light only,
    turn the switch down from the OFF
    position. The indicator in the
    instrument panel comes on to
    indicate that the rear fog light is on.
    To operate the front fog lights, turn
    the switch up from the OFF position
    to the ON position. The
    indicator comes on as a
    reminder. To turn the rear f og light
    on with the front fog lights, turn the
    switch one position up f rom the
    position.When you turn the light control
    switch on again, the f ront f og lights
    will also turn on. To turn the f og
    lights completely of f , turn the f og
    light switch down to the OFF
    position.

    							To reduce glare at night, the
    instrument panel illumination dims
    when you turn the light switch to the
    or position.
    You can adjust the brightness to the
    desired level with the headlight
    switch of f , and also with the
    headlight switch on. Both settings
    will remain at those levels until you
    change them.
    Each display (upper and lower) will
    illuminate with reduced brightness
    when you unlock and open the
    driver’s door, then go to normal
    brightness when you turn the
    ignition switch to the ON (II)
    position.
    If you insert the key but do not turn
    the ignition switch to the ON (II)
    position, the illumination turns of f
    af ter about 10 seconds. The knob on the instrument panel
    adjusts the brightness of the instru-
    ment panel. Push on the knob to pop
    it out, then turn it to adjust the
    brightness.

    your setting f rom accidentally
    changing.The brightness can be shown within
    the six brightness levels on the
    multi-inf ormation display. When you
    turn the knob, the lower segment of
    the display changes to vertical bars
    that show you the current level. You
    will hear a tone when you reach the
    maximum or minimum brightness.
    The brightness level goes out about
    5 seconds af ter you stop adjusting.

    							The rear window demister will clear
    fog, frost, and thin ice from the
    window. Turn the ignition switch to
    the ON (II) position. Push the
    demister button to turn it on and of f .
    The indicator in the button comes on
    to show the demister is on. It shuts
    of f when you turn of f the ignition
    switch. You have to turn the
    demister on again when you restart
    the vehicle. Pushtheredbuttontoturnonthe
    hazard warning lights (f our-way
    f lashers). This causes all outside
    turn signals and both turn indicators
    in the instrument panel to flash. Use
    these lights to give a warning to
    other road users that your vehicle is
    causing a hazard.Pushing the demister also turns the
    mirror heaters on and of f . For more
    inf ormation, see page . The demister and antenna wires on
    the inside of the rear window can be
    accidentally damaged. When
    cleaning the glass, always wipe side
    to side. Make sure the rear window is clear
    and you have good visibility bef ore
    starting to drive. The demister will shut itself of f
    withinabout20to40minutes
    according to the outside temperature.

    according to the number of persons

    							Make any steering wheel
    adjustments before you start driving.
    Make sure you have securely
    locked the steering wheel in place
    by trying to move it up, down, in,
    and out.
    Move the steering wheel up or
    down, and in or out, so it points
    toward your chest, not toward
    your f ace. Make sure you can see
    the instrument panel gauges and
    indicators. Pull the lever under the steering
    column all the way up.Push the lever down to lock the
    steering wheel in position.

    							These keys contain electronic
    circuits that are activated by the
    immobilizer system. They will not
    work to start the engine if the
    circuits are damaged.
    Protect the keys f rom direct
    sunlight, high temperature, and
    high humidity.
    Donotdropthekeysorsetheavy
    objects on them.
    Keep the keys away f rom liquids.
    If they get wet, dry them
    immediately with a sof t cloth. Two ignition keys come with your
    vehicle. You should keep one of
    them in a saf e place, away f rom the
    vehicle, as a spare.
    They f it all the locks on your vehicle.Youshouldhavereceivedakey
    number tag with your keys. You will
    need this key number if you ever
    have to get a lost key replaced. Use
    only Honda-approved key blanks.

    							If the system repeatedly does not
    recognize the coding of your key,
    contact your dealer.
    Do not attempt to alter this system
    or add other devices to it. Electrical
    problems could result that may make
    your vehicle inoperable.
    If you have lost your key and cannot
    start your engine, contact your
    dealer.

    This immobilizer system complies
    with the R & TTE (Radio equipment
    and Telecommunications Terminal
    Equipment and the mutual
    recognition of their conf ormity)
    Directives. The immobilizer system protects
    your vehicle f rom thef t. If an
    improperly coded key (or other
    device) is used, the engine’s f uel
    system is disabled.
    When you turn the ignition switch to
    the ON (II) position, the immobilizer
    system indicator should come on
    brief ly, then go of f . If the indicator
    starts to blink, it means the system
    does not recognize the coding of the
    key. Turn the ignition switch to the
    LOCK (0) position, remove the key,
    reinsert it, and turn the ignition
    switch to the ON (II) position again.
    The system may not recognize your
    key’s coding if another immobilizer
    key or other metal object (i.e. key
    f ob) is near the ignition switch when
    you insert the key.

    µIf the f ront wheels are turned, the
    anti-thef t lock may make it dif f icult
    to turn the key. Firmly turn the
    steering wheel to the lef t or right as
    you turn the key.
    You can
    operate the audio system (on some
    types) and the cigarette lighter in
    this position.
    This is the normal key
    position when driving. Several of the
    indicators on the instrument panel
    come on as a test when you turn the
    ignition switch f rom the
    ACCESSORY (I) to the ON (II)
    position.
    On some types, the headlights come
    on automatically in this position. The ignition switch has three
    positions: LOCK (0), ACCESSORY
    (I), and ON (II).
    You can insert or
    remove the key only in this position.
    To turn the key, push it in slightly. If
    your vehicle has an automatic
    transmission, the shif t lever must
    also be in Park.The engine can be started with the
    key in this position by pressing the
    ENGINE START button (see page
    on petrol models with manual
    transmission and automatic
    transmission, page on petrol
    models with i-SHIFT, and page

    You will hear a reminder beeper if
    you leave the key in the ignition
    switch in the LOCK (0) or the
    ACCESSORY (I) position and open
    the driver’s door. You will also see
    the symbol ‘‘ ,’’ or the symbol
    with an ‘‘IGNITION KEY’’ message
    on the multi-information display.
    Remove the key to turn off the
    beeper and the warning symbol.
    To lock the doors and the tailgate,
    push the top of the master door lock
    switch on the driver’s door, pull the
    locktabrearwardonthedriver’s
    door, or use the key on the outside
    lock on the driver’s door.
    Pushing the bottom of the master
    door lock switch or pushing f orward
    the lock tab on the driver’s door will
    unlock all doors and the tailgate. If your vehicle has an automatic
    transmission, the shif t lever must be
    in Park bef ore you can remove the
    key f rom the ignition switch.
