The system may not f unction
    properly under these conditions:
    The sensors are covered with
    snow,ice,mud,etc.
When the vehicle is on a rough
road, on grass, or on a hill.
After the vehicle has been sitting
out in hot or cold weather. When the system is af f ected by
    some electrical equipment or
    devices generating an ultrasonic
    wave.
When operating the vehicle in bad
    weather.
The range of the corner sensors and
the rear centre sensors are limited.
Each corner sensor is capable of
sensing an obstacle only when your
vehicle is about 60 cm (24 in) or
    closer.
The rear centre sensors sense an
obstacle that is behind your vehicle
    about 1.1 m (43 in) or closer.
Do not put any accessories on or

The system may not sense thin or
    low objects, or sonic-absorptive
materials such as snow, cotton, or
    sponge.
    The system cannot sense objects
    directly under the bumper.
If the system develops a problem,
you will see all indicators or the
    indicators with a ‘‘CHECK SYSTEM’’
    message on the multi-inf ormation
display. You will hear a beep at the
f irst time when the warning symbol
is displayed. If there is a problem in any of the
    sensors, the appropriate sensor
indicator(s) will come on and stay on
in this warning symbol. In this case,
    the remaining sensors can be
    operated properly.
Very of ten, a sensor covered with
mud, ice, snow, etc. is the cause of
this display. Check the sensors f irst.
If the indicators stay on or the
beeper does not stop, have the
system checked by your dealer. If you install a towbar on your
vehicle, this may cause the alarm
when the parking sensor system is
    activated.
When you tow a trailer, do not turn
on the parking sensor system. The
trailer behind your vehicle will cause
the alarm to be activated. If there is a problem with the
    parking sensor system and/or a
    beeper sounds continuously, you
may turn of f the system temporarily
and stop a beeper by pressing the
    parking sensor system button.

    							Bluetooth is the wireless technology
that links your phone to the HFT
system. The HFT system uses a
Class 2 Bluetooth, which means the
    maximum range between your
    phoneandvehicleis10meters(30
    f eet). Bluetooth
    is a registered trademark
    of Bluetooth SIG, Inc.
To use the HFT system, your phone
    must have approved Bluetooth
capability along with the Hands Free
Prof ile. This type of phone is
    available through many phone
makers and network operators. The available language is set to
English as the def ault setting when
your vehicle leaves the f actory. The
voice of the HFT system is set to
    female.
Here are the main f eatures of the
HFT system. Instructions f or using
the HFT system begin on page .
    HFT system recognizes simple voice
    commands, such as phone numbers
and names. It uses these commands
    to automatically dial, receive, and
    store numbers. For more
inf ormation on voice control, see
UsingVoiceControlonpage . Your vehicle is equipped with the
    Hands-Free Telephone (HFT)
    system. HFT system uses Bluetooth
    technology as a wireless link
    between it and your Bluetooth
    compatible mobile phone. When you
are in your vehicle and your phone is
linked to the HFT system, you’ll
enjoy hands-f ree phone use. The
HFT system is available in any of the
    f ive languages; English, French,

When the HFT system is in use, the
    sound comes through the vehicle’s
f ront audio system speakers. If the
audio system is in use while
operating either of HFT buttons or
making a call, the HFT system over-
rides the audio system. To change
    thevolumelevel,usetheaudio
system volume knob, or the steering
wheel volume controls. Here are the main components of
    the HFT system:
The HFT system microphone is on
    the ceiling console. The microphone
is shared with the navigation system. You can also store the desired
number to the HFT system directly
f rom your mobile phone using the
receive contact function in the HFT
    system.
    Bef ore selling or discarding
your vehicle, make sure to delete the
    stored phone data.
Your vehicle’s HFT system has the
    mobile phonebook import f unction.
This allows you to import your
    mobile phonebook to the HFT
    system. Using the navigation system,
you can make a call directly and
store a desired number in the HFT
system f rom the list shown on the
    navigation display. For more
inf ormation on how to import the
phonebook or to make a call, see
page . The HFT system can store up to 50
names and phone numbers in its
phonebook. With a linked phone, you
can then automatically dial any name
or number in the phonebook. With a linked phone, the HFT
system allows you to send and
receive calls in your vehicle without
    holding the phone. The Bluetooth
