    . FLOPPY DISKETTES CAN SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCE TIME REQUIRED FOR ODDB BACKUP AND LOADING. 
    . AN EPSON TF-20 FLOPPY DISKETTE DRIVE UNIT IS USED IN CONJUNCTION WITH PORTABLE MAINTENANCE PANEL. 
    . SAVING AND LOADING OPERATING PROCEDURE IS SIMILAR TO PROCEDURE FOR PMP MICROCASSETTES. 
    . ONE SAVE FLOPPY DISKETTE CAN HOLD ONE COMPLETE OMNI SBCS DATA BASE BACKUP USING A SEQUENTIAL FILE. 
    . SAVE FLOPPY DISKETTE MUST BE INITIALIZED OR HAVE BEEN USED PREVIOUSLY FOR A BACKUP OPERATION. SAVE 
    DATA ON DISKETTE USED PREVIOUSLY WILL BE WRITTEN OVER BY NEW BACKUP DATA. 
    1. TO CONFIGURE AND CONNECT TF-20 FLOPPY DISKETTE DRIVE TO PORTABLE MAINTENANCE PANEL: 
    . ENSURE THAT PMP IS EQUIPPED WITH EXPANSION RAM (EXPANSION UNIT HSOEU). 
    . SET BIT 4 OF PMP’S DIP SWITCH TO ON. DIP SWITCH IS LOCATED WELL INSIDE AND TO LEFT AS VIEWED WHEN 
    OPENING LID OF BOTTOM PANEL. 
    . ENSURE THAT PMP AND TF-20 POWER SWITCHES ARE OFF BEFORE INSERTING OR REMOVING CONNECTORS. 
    . USING A NUMBER 707 CABLE, CONNECT THE PMP SERIAL INTERFACE CONNECTOR TO THE TF-20 TOP (6- PIN) 
    SERIAL INTERFACE CONNECTOR LOCATED ON REAR OF TF-20. 
    . PMP CAN NOW BE CONNECTED TO OMNI SBCS PORT WITH RS-232-C CONNECTOR. 
    2. TO OPERATE FLOPPY DISKETTE UNIT - 
    FIRST POWER ON TF-20 FLOPPY DISKETTE DRIVE: 
    . ENSURE THAT PUSHBUTTON IS OFF. 
    . INSERT FLOPPY DISKETTE INTO DISKETTE DRIVE. 
    . ALWAYS TURN TF-20 POWER SWITCH ON BEFORE TURNING PMP POWER SWITCH TO ON. WHEN DISCONNECTING, 
    TURN PMP POWER SWITCH OFF, THEN TURN TF-20 POWER SWITCH TO OFF.

    0 INSERT FLOPPY DISKETTE INTO DRIVE, WITH WRITE-PROTECTION NOTCH UP (STANDARD LABEL AT RIGHT). 
    . PUSH FLOPPY DISKETTE IN UNTIL A CLICK IS HEARD AND EJECT LOCK LEVER POPS OUT. 
    . SLOWLY DEPRESS PUSHBUTTON TO TURN DRIVE ON. 
    TO EJECT FLOPPY DISKETTE: 
    . ENSURE THAT DRIVE SELECT LED IS OFF FOR DRIVE CONTAINING FLOPPY DISKETTE. IF STILL ON, INPUT 
    CLOSE OR RESET COMMAND. 
    0 DEPRESS PUSHBUTTON UNTIL IT POPS INTO OFF POSITION. FLOPPY DISKETTE WILL BE EJECTED 2 TO 3 CM. 
    . SLOWLY REMOVE FLOPPY DISKETTE FROM DRIVE. 
    4. TO START PMP WITH FLOPPY DISKETTE DRIVE UNIT: 
    . TURN TF-20 POWER SWITCH ON. 
    l INSERT TF-20 SYSTEM DISKETTE (EPSON TF-20 DISK BASIC) INTO DRIVE A SLOT OF TF-20. 
    ENSURE THAT DRIVE SELECT LED BLINKS TO INDICATE THAT DISK OPERATING SYSTEM (DOS) IS STARTING. 
    . TURN PMP POWER SWITCH ON. ENSURE THAT DRIVE SELECT LED BLINKS AGAIN, TO INDICATE THAT 
    DISKETTE BASIC HAS BEEN BOOTED ON THE PMP. 
    . PORT CONFIGURATION PROMPT SCREEN WILL BE DISPLAYED ON SCREEN:
